More Techies Academy ("we", "us") respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to our website (moretechies.co), our learning platform (academy.moretechies.co), and our programmes and communications. It is written to comply with the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 and, where applicable to our users, the UK/EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
Information you provide: name, email address, phone number, and details submitted in programme applications (such as education, employment status, or career goals); payment information processed by our payment providers (we do not store full card details); messages you send us; and content you submit within programmes, such as assignments and projects.
Information collected automatically: device and browser information, IP address, pages visited, and interactions with our website and learning platform, collected through cookies and similar technologies; and learning activity on our platform, such as course progress and completion, used to deliver and improve your learning experience.
We use your information to: provide and manage your account and enrolments; deliver programmes, track progress, and issue certificates; process payments and prevent fraud; respond to enquiries and provide support; assess applications for programmes and scholarships; send service communications about your enrolment; send marketing emails about programmes, workshops, scholarships, and opportunities where you have opted in, you can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email; improve our website, platform, and programmes through analytics; and meet legal obligations.
Where GDPR applies, we process your information on the basis of: performance of a contract (delivering programmes you enrol in); consent (marketing communications, which you may withdraw at any time); legitimate interests (improving our services, securing our platform); and legal obligation (tax and accounting records).
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with: service providers who help us operate including our learning platform hosting, payment processors, email service provider, and analytics tools under agreements that protect your data; sponsors and partners of impact programmes and scholarships, limited to aggregate or programme-completion information unless you consent to more; and authorities where required by law.
We use essential cookies to make the website and learning platform work, and analytics cookies to understand how our sites are used. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling essential cookies may affect how the platform functions.
We keep your information for as long as you have an account with us and as needed afterwards to meet legal, accounting, and certificate-verification requirements. Application data for unsuccessful applicants is retained for 12 months before deletion. You may request deletion earlier as described below.
Depending on your location, you have the right to: access a copy of your personal information; correct inaccurate information; request deletion; object to or restrict certain processing; withdraw consent for marketing at any time; and lodge a complaint with your data protection authority (in Nigeria, the Nigeria Data Protection Commission; in the UK, the ICO). No online service can guarantee absolute security, but we take the protection of your data seriously and review our practices regularly.
Some of our service providers are located outside Nigeria. Where your information is transferred internationally, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place consistent with applicable data protection law.
Our Services are not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16 without parental or guardian consent. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
