Terms of Service

Last updated: 13 July 2026

1. Introduction

Welcome to More Techies Academy. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of our website (moretechies.co), our learning platform (academy.moretechies.co), and the programmes, workshops, and services we provide (together, the "Services"). More Techies Academy is operated by More Techies, Lagos Nigeria ("More Techies", "we", "us").

By accessing our website, creating an account, or enrolling in a programme, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.

2. Eligibility & Accounts

You must be at least 16 years old to create an account, or have the consent of a parent or guardian. Some programmes have additional eligibility requirements (such as age ranges or student status), which are stated on the relevant programme page.

You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for all activity under your account. Account sharing is not permitted, enrolment gives one named individual access to a programme.

3. Programmes & Enrolment

Programme descriptions, durations, schedules, and inclusions are set out on each programme page. Cohort-based programmes (such as the Talent Accelerator Programme and the Digital Apprentice Fellowship) may require an application, and we reserve the right to accept or decline applications at our discretion.

We may update curriculum content, tools taught, mentors, or schedules to keep programmes current; where a material change affects a programme you have paid for, we will notify you.

4. Fees & Payment

Programme fees are displayed on the relevant programme page or provided during application, in Nigerian Naira (₦) or the currency stated. Payment is due at enrolment unless an instalment plan has been agreed in writing.

Where instalments are offered, missed instalments may result in suspended access until payment is brought up to date. Prices may change, but changes will not affect enrolments already paid for. You are responsible for any bank or transfer charges applied by your payment provider.

5. Refunds & Cancellations

Self-paced programmes: you may request a full refund within 7 days of purchase, provided you have accessed less than 10% of the programme content.

Cohort-based programmes (TAP, Fellowship): you may cancel for a full refund up to 7 days before your cohort start date. After the cohort begins, fees are non-refundable, but you may defer once to a future cohort by written request within the first 2 weeks.

Workshops: fees are non-refundable, but registrations may be transferred to another person or a future session with at least 48 hours' notice.

Refunds are returned via the original payment method within 14 days of approval. Impact programmes and scholarship-funded places are free of charge and not subject to refunds.

6. Your Conduct

You agree to use the Services respectfully and lawfully. You must not: harass, abuse, or discriminate against other learners, mentors, or staff; share, resell, or redistribute course materials; misrepresent your identity or qualifications in applications; disrupt live sessions or community spaces; or attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems.

We may suspend or terminate access, without refund, for serious or repeated breaches of these Terms or our community standards.

7. Intellectual Property

All course materials, recordings, curricula, branding, and platform content are the intellectual property of More Techies Academy or our licensors. Enrolment grants you a personal, non-transferable licence to use the materials for your own learning.

You retain full ownership of the projects and portfolio work you create during our programmes, that work is yours to showcase, use, and build on.

8. Certificates

Certificates of completion are issued for eligible programmes when completion requirements (such as attendance, assignments, or capstone projects) are met, as described on the programme page. Certificates confirm completion of a More Techies Academy programme; they are not academic degrees or government-issued qualifications.

9. Community & Mentorship

Our community spaces and mentorship are provided to support your learning. Mentors and community members offer guidance in good faith; their views are their own and do not constitute professional, financial, or legal advice. We expect all community participants to follow our conduct standards in section 6.

10. Disclaimers

We work hard to deliver high-quality, practical education, but we do not guarantee specific outcomes such as employment, income, business results, or admission to other institutions. Your results depend on your effort, circumstances, and factors beyond our control. The Services are provided "as is"; while we aim for continuous availability of our learning platform, we do not guarantee uninterrupted access and may perform maintenance from time to time.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, More Techies Academy will not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses arising from your use of the Services. Our total liability for any claim will not exceed the fees you paid to us in the 12 months before the claim arose. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

12. Third-Party Tools & Links

Our programmes may introduce third-party tools and platforms (for example, no-code and AI tools). Your use of those tools is governed by their own terms and pricing, which may change independently of us. Links to third-party websites are provided for convenience; we are not responsible for their content.

13. Privacy

Our collection and use of your personal information is described in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the latest version. Material changes will be communicated by email or platform notice. Continued use of the Services after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.

15. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of its courts.
